A Litany Prayer

The Litany is a great practice during this Lent season. It can be found on pages 288 through 289 in the Lutheran Service Book.

From all sin, from all error, from all evil;
From the crafts and assaults of the devil;
From sudden and evil death;
From pestilence and famine;
From war and bloodshed;
From sedition and from rebellion;
From lightning and tempest;
From all calamity by fire and water;
And from everlasting death:

Good Lord, deliver us.

Homemade White Bread Recipe (bread machine)

This is the only recipe I use for white bread!  It's so soft and tastes amazing right out of the bread machine with a little bit of soft butter and a pinch of salt. My family will devour a l oaf in a day or 2 if I let them!  Ready In: 25 minutes Ingredients: 6 Yields:  1 loaf Ingredients: 1 c. warm water 2 tsp. yeast 3 T. sugar 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1 tsp. salt 3 c. white flour Directions: 1.  Put 1 cup of warm water, 2 teaspoons of yeast, and 3 tablespoons of sugar in your bread machine. Let stand 6-12 minutes (depending on the temperature of your water). Your yeast will foam. 2.  Add the remaining ingredients: 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 3 cups of white flour. 3.  Use a rapid or basic white bread machine cycle, or bake for 25 minutes in the oven at 350° F. 4. Enjoy!

An Audience with the King

You don’t have to be in a church service in order for God’s presence to inhabit your praises. You can be at home and turn your living room into a cathedral if you’ll start talking to God about who He is. Why? Because when you talk to God about who He is, you are praising Him. Start saying, “ Lord, You are the Ancient of Days. You met my needs in the past, You’re meeting my needs now, and You’ll meet my needs tomorrow. You’re the One who created the heavens and earth. That means that everything in my life that needs to be made new, You can do it because You’ve already done it before. You’re the Shepherd of the stars, and You’ve numbered and called them by name. You measure the mountains in a scale, and the hills You hold in a balance. You’re the God who has made the lame to leap and the blind to see. You are the King above all kings and Lord above all lords. Today I am speaking to God Almighty, and I declare that You are great and greatly to be praised!” If you start talking...
